Stack of Books

Wordhoard specialises in supporting people who are working to produce excellent academic writing.

Whatever your subject area, you’ll need to maintain a critical, forthright, and confident tone throughout your work, but it can be tricky to strike the right note when you’re also trying to juggle the evidence and research that you’ve spent time gathering together.

It’s easy to get tangled up as you try to get your facts in order and ‘sound the part’ at the same time.

Crafting a powerful voice

That’s why academics often turn to Wordhoard for help with the process of crafting a convincing, authoritative, and flexible ‘voice’ for their work.

It helps to have someone untangle your gnarly sentences. It can be useful, too, to have an experienced academic advise you about those moments where evidence is lacking or unconvincing.

Writing support

With Wordhoard, you’ll be able to draw on support and expertise acquired through almost 20 years of teaching experience in Higher Education. Our mentors are highly experienced in providing support for writing skills whatever your specialist subject.

Recent clients have been working on subjects as varied as maritime terrorism, sustainable development goals, hunger strikes, and 19th-century poetry.

Wordhoard does not accept commissions that relate to undergraduate work, and we will only edit postgraduate work that is being prepared for assessment purposes under exceptional circumstances and with the full consent of your academic department. Generally speaking, we edit the work of tenured academics and our editing services are commissioned via their universities.

Ethics included

All of our academic services are provided with careful attention to the ethical issues involved in helping people to produce original and authentic academic work. There are lots of places on the web where you’ll find people to write essays for you. This is not one of them.

Our aim is to help you articulate important research findings clearly and effectively. Some of the work we edit has the potential to produce significant change. When your articles are going to be distributed via NATO publications or used by aid agencies as they make plans about future funding, it is important that your arguments are easy to grasp and memorable.

We work with our authors to help them find their own style so that, over time, they become confident about writing for academic purposes without the need for our help.
